Slipped through the net, this one

Jamie Han Li Chou, are you mad? Brave? Foolish? Drunk? Have you no concern for your family? Mum and Dad must be shitting bricks reading the news. What do you think this is? A western liberal democracy? Where are your Asian values? So near Chinese New Year some more! Organise yourself! Or else just write blogs like the rest of us! (If you don't know how to, MM Lee has a friend who can help you set one up) It's easy! Like so: Heard this joke once, and I laughed then:
Drunk man to police officer: Offffffissser! Police Officer: Yes? How can I help you? Drunk man: Issit a crime to think? Police Officer: Of course not. Drunk man: Wellll then... I THINK you're a fucking cunt!
The Revolution WILL be televised!
iTunes' party shuffle is playing a copy of: Cupid Must Be Angry - Nick Lowe - The Convincer, of which I have the original CD and therefore didn't steal music.

I think Jamie is very brave... and very young.

With all credit, I may have thought like him when I was young... but would I have had the courage to say it to MM Lee? Hmmm. I hope I would, but in all fairness, I don't know if I would.

There's a lot to be said about youthful idealism... but more to be said for experienced pragmatism.

I think the old man may have more "fire in his belly" than those much much younger than him.

The truth of the matter is that idealism has a price, and sometimes the price is not paid by the idealist alone, but by those around as well.

Ideals are often absolutist, monochromatic, and ultimately impractical.

But all said and done, nothing Jamie said is new. Abolish ISA? Free up the Media?

How different is that from any opposition party's platform?

There is no crime in being young and idealistic, and being unoriginal is such a common failing (me included), it is the unoriginal sin.

What I'd give to be young(er) and forthright. I tip my hat to Jamie for getting into the spirit of things, despite not having an 'original' argument, because an argument you haven't yet won shouldn't necessarily be abandoned. But to 'stake your life on it', you'll need to be better prepared. I hope he gets to spar and parry with the likes of MM Lee again, though. You know what they say about practice.

Hey Mr. Miyagi, I think what you said about Jamie getting all the chicks on campus on MB's blog is gonna be so, so true. I'm one of those chicks now dying to meet him. Damn, I am such a bimbo. LOL~

Well, looks like you'll have to pass his personal friend's (of the top comment) stringent tests first. So fierce.

Eh not always true ok. Many girls dun seem to find brave nerds interesting at all. I notice nerdiness already qualifies one for being ostracise, bravery in the face of authority makes it even more so.

Jamie Han also happens to be my junior at sec school... haha

I'd say what Jamie did was either very brave or stupid, but i think we should all give dear jamie the benefit of the doubt. I personally salute him for his guts to stand up to MM Lee.. Btw, Jamie if you're reading this, the gah-men keeps their lawyers clothed and well fed, so beware of men in white. :P

Btw, Mr Miyagi, hope you don't mind me linking to your blog... Cheers!

my apologies if i offended u in anyway. lucky u dun have ISD on ur side. nevertheless, like i told brown, u guys with popular websites, should give such youthful enthusiasm some encouragement. not some mock horror and try to generate traffic for ur site.

Yifeng, this is our way of cheering Our Nation's Hope on. And the more traffic generated (which, yeah, is part of the joy of having a blog), the more people will know and talk about your friend Jamie's fabulous day out.

My apologies too, if you were unable to realise that my comments, as with some of Mr Brown's, are usually made with tongue very firmly in cheek, as we are conditioned to do so. We keep forgetting that some younger Singaporeans take things too literally.

No offence taken nonetheless. Besides, you had the notion that this was supposedly a trendsetting blog. I am so happy you couldn't begin to imagine. Hee hee.

And hey, the ISD is on my side. Donchu know? ISD protects me, my family, my loved ones and our way of life from undesirable elements and terrorists and such.

maybe thats wat they call lost in translation. the speed at which ur tongue wags, its not easy to detect it thats y dunno if its in or out of ur cheek.

a seemingly innocuous QnA session has unsettled him quite abit, no thanks to all the publicity. thats y i had to say something for him.

u do have a good blog here. keep it up!

to ISD: beneath my psychedelic facade, i m realli white. peace! :p

Wah lau MB now you're telling me everyone looks like Jay. Now I don't know what to believe. But I have it from a good source that Jamie ISN'T a Jay Chou lookalike, so nice try!

And you and Mr. Miyagi definitely got generation gap if you guys think Fire disco (which incidentally closed down like 10 years ago) is cool. LOL~

(Disclaimer: I know this is tongue-in-cheek from you, MB, by the way.)

Finally found the time to read what was happening... Yah, I agree.. Stupidity + Brainlessness in it's highest order... I KNOW this Jamie guy... The typical "Ah Siah Kia" who's got too much time and too little brain cells.. All talk and no action is equivalent to nothing... If talking works, I would be a millinaire by now...

By the way, did I mention that he's an individual with an overly inflated ego and thinks that he can make ALL women fall head over heels?
